Anyone looking for CeMAP® exam booking meets a surprise: there is nothing to book, so CeMAP exam booking today simply means registering and starting the exam. Since 10 November 2025, Walbrook (LIBF) has delivered every unit of the Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice on demand through Brightspace, the same online platform as the study materials. This page covers the practical journey from registration to result for all five units (FRE1, FRE2, MRT1, MRT2 and ASEW/ASSC): registering, sitting a remotely invigilated exam, results, resits, remarks and registration expiry. The rules are UK-wide. For pass marks and formats, see the CeMAP pass mark and exam structure hub.
Do you need to book a CeMAP exam?
You do not need to book a CeMAP exam. Since 10 November 2025, all five unit exams run on demand on Brightspace with remote invigilation, available day or night during your registration period, and the first attempt at each unit is included in your fee.
Walbrook's exam and assessment information says on-demand multiple-choice exams can be sat "whenever you feel ready – day or night, during your registration period." The CeMAP qualification specification adds that there is "no need to book in advance."
Booking belonged to the old CeMAP. Under the old structure, exams were booked through Pearson VUE, at a test centre or online. The final date to book old-structure exams was 11 January 2026, and the last old-structure sitting was on 12 January 2026. If you read about booking slots or test centres, the source predates the change. Our page on what changed in the new CeMAP has the full timeline.
How do you log in?
You log in through MyLIBF, Walbrook's learner portal, and reach your course and exams on Brightspace from there. Your login details come with your registration; the login link is on Walbrook's website. We cannot help with Walbrook accounts, because we are an independent practice site.
Key fact: "Book my CeMAP exam" now simply means "start it". The exam link sits in your course until you complete it or your registration expires.
How do you register for CeMAP?
You register for CeMAP online with Walbrook, either for the full qualification at £735 or module by module at £330, £320 and £160, as of October 2026. Full registration lasts 18 months; a module registered on its own lasts 12 months.
- Choose full or modular registration. The full qualification costs £735, which Walbrook says saves £75 against the £810 module-by-module total. Individual modules cost £330 for CeMAP 1 (FSRE), £320 for CeMAP 2 (MORT) and £160 for CeMAP 3 (ASEW/ASSC). Prices are from the Walbrook CeMAP page.
- Check entry requirements. There are none, beyond being able to study in English at Level 3.
- Pay and receive your login. Registration includes the study materials and the first attempt at each unit exam.
- Note your expiry date. Your registration period starts now: 18 months for the full qualification, 12 months per module.
- Apply for exemptions early, if you hold a relevant qualification. Walbrook's recognition of prior learning process applies.
Employers registering a group use Walbrook's corporate route. For the full fee picture, including optional extras, see our CeMAP cost guide.
Exam tip: Full registration gives you 18 months for all five units. Modular registration gives 12 months per module, which can suit you if you want to pay as you go.
What do you need for a remotely invigilated exam?
You need a PC or laptop with a working webcam, a quiet testing space you can show in a 360-degree scan, a stable internet connection and no plan to leave the room: Walbrook does not allow toilet breaks during the exam.
Walbrook's rules for on-demand CeMAP exams, from its exam information and its CeMAP changes page:
| Requirement | What Walbrook says |
|---|---|
| Device | Any PC or laptop; no software installs, plug-ins or extensions |
| Room scan | A full 360-degree scan of your testing space with your laptop or webcam before you start |
| Breaks | No toilet breaks during the exam |
| Work devices and VPNs | Ask your employer to whitelist *.learnosity.com and *.atomicjoltappsie.com |
| Connection | Brightspace is optimised for low-bandwidth and intermittent connections |
Tablets and phones
Walbrook says tablets and mobile phones cannot be used, but it says so in the section on session-based exams monitored by its partner Integrity Advocate. It does not state the rule separately for on-demand CeMAP exams. Since the scan needs a movable camera and the guidance is written for computers, plan to use a PC or laptop.
The same session-based section asks candidates to have identification to hand and to run a system check in advance on the same device and connection. Walbrook does not repeat these points for on-demand exams, but they cost nothing to follow.
Exam day, step by step
- Prepare the room. Clear your desk and walls of notes, close other apps and silence your phone.
- Open your course on Brightspace through MyLIBF and select the unit exam.
- Complete the 360-degree scan of your testing space with your webcam or laptop.
- Sit the exam in one go, without leaving the room.
- Submit and check MyLIBF for your result and analysis sheet.
Exam tip: Do your 360-degree scan rehearsal the day before: clear the desk, remove notes from the walls, and check that your webcam can be moved around the room.
Can you sit two CeMAP units on the same day?
You can sit two CeMAP units on the same day: Walbrook says unit exams can be taken back-to-back or on separate days. All five total 6 hours of exam time: 1 hour each for FRE1, FRE2, MRT1 and MRT2, and 2 hours for ASEW.
| Unit | Questions | Time | Pass mark |
|---|---|---|---|
| FRE1 | 40 | 1 hour | 28 |
| FRE2 | 40 | 1 hour | 28 |
| MRT1 | 50 | 1 hour | 35 |
| MRT2 | 40 | 1 hour | 28 |
| ASEW/ASSC | 60 (6 case studies × 10) | 2 hours | 42 |
Sitting units back-to-back can make sense when you have revised them together, for example FRE1 and FRE2 at the end of CeMAP 1. Remember that each exam is a separate sitting with its own room scan, and there are no breaks within an exam. Most candidates find one unit a day easier to manage. The CeMAP mock papers guide explains how to rehearse each format under the real clock.
Key fact: Walbrook's suggested order is FRE1, MRT1, FRE2, MRT2, then ASEW/ASSC last, but you may sit the units in any order.
When do you get your CeMAP result?
You get FSRE results (FRE1 and FRE2) on the same day, according to Walbrook's FSRE page. Walbrook does not state the results timing for MRT1, MRT2 or ASEW/ASSC, although they run on the same platform. Feedback comes as analysis sheets on MyLIBF.
The "same-day results" statement appears on the FSRE course page. We found no equivalent statement for the MORT units or CeMAP 3, so we do not assume one.
What a result shows:
- Unit grade. Pass (70–79%), merit (80–89%) or distinction (90–100%), awarded per unit.
- Qualification result. Pass or Fail only; you need all five units.
- Feedback. Analysis sheets on MyLIBF.
- Certificate. A digital certificate once you have passed.
As of October 2026, Walbrook's additional fees document (its file name says 2024) lists a £30 fee for an FSRE certificate when FSRE is completed under CeMAP, £48 for a replacement certificate and £12 for trackable UK delivery.
Key fact: Merit and distinction are unit grades. The FCA appropriate-qualification standard asks only for the CeMAP pass.
How do CeMAP resits work, and what do they cost?
CeMAP resits cost £120 per unit as of October 2026. For each failed unit you may make up to three attempts in a week and ten in any 12-month period, all within your registration period. Your first attempt at each unit is included.
- Read your feedback on MyLIBF and note the weak topics.
- Fix those topics before you try again. A resit the same evening rarely changes the result.
- Book the resit from MyLIBF. Walbrook's exam information page says resits can be booked there or through its customer services team.
- Pay £120 for the resit.
- Sit it on Brightspace, with a fresh room scan.
The £120 figure is on both the Walbrook CeMAP page and the FSRE page. Some third-party sites still quote £110, which is out of date. The attempt limits come from the qualification specification.
A worked cost example
A candidate fails MRT1 once and FRE2 twice before passing both. The resit cost is 3 × £120 = £360, on top of the £735 registration, so £1,095 in all. Those three resits would have paid for many months of practice, which is why we suggest waiting until you pass 3 mocks in a row at 85% before sitting. Our page on whether CeMAP is hard explains where candidates most often slip.
Exam tip: Treat each £120 resit as a signal, not a formality. Change how you revise before you sit again.
Can you ask for a remark or feedback?
You can ask Walbrook for a remark and clerical check for £80, written feedback for £125, or both for £160. A formal Stage 1 appeal costs £117. These are the fees in Walbrook's additional fees document.
| Service | Fee |
|---|---|
| Remark and clerical check | £80 |
| Feedback | £125 |
| Remark and feedback together | £160 |
| Appeals, Stage 1 | £117 |
| Deferral (if applicable) | £175 |
The figures come from the Walbrook additional fees PDF, which is still linked from Walbrook's recognition of prior learning page; its file name says 2024, so confirm the price when you apply. For a multiple-choice exam marked electronically, a remark is unlikely to change a result unless you suspect a technical problem. The free analysis sheet on MyLIBF is often enough to plan a resit.
Key fact: A remark costs £80 and a resit £120, as of October 2026. If you fell well short of the pass mark, the resit is usually the better use of the money.
What if your registration period runs out?
If your registration period runs out, your exam link stops working: Walbrook says it stays open only until you complete the exam or your registration expires. Full registration lasts 18 months and modular registration 12 months, so check your expiry date in MyLIBF.
Walbrook's public pages do not set out what happens after expiry, such as an extension or re-registration process. The additional fees document lists a £175 deferral fee "if applicable", without saying when it applies. If your deadline is close, contact Walbrook before it passes rather than after.
One group should check now. Learners on the old structure whose registrations moved to the new units on 13 January 2026 were given "a new 12 months to complete the qualification", according to Walbrook's changes page. On our reading, that points to deadlines in January 2027. Our guide on how long CeMAP takes helps you plan the remaining units against your date.
Exam tip: Put your registration expiry date in your calendar with a reminder three months before. That leaves room for a resit if you need one.
Your CeMAP exam-week checklist
Your exam-week checklist covers four things: confirm the rules and tax table in your learner portal, prepare identification and your equipment, test your connection and webcam, and pass a full timed mock 1 in the week before you sit.
These are the same three checks our app gives before every unit exam, plus a final rehearsal:
- Check the current instructions and tax table in your MyLIBF learner portal. Walbrook provides the tax table with the study materials; use it in the exam.
- Prepare identification and equipment required by your exam instructions: a PC or laptop, a movable webcam and a clear desk.
- Check your connection, webcam and testing space before you start, including any work-laptop whitelisting.
- Rehearse under real timing. Sit the free mock 1 for your unit, such as the FRE1 mock 1 or the MRT1 mock 1, then the MRT1 fees topic drill if calculations slowed you down.
- Sit when ready. Our readiness rule is 3 mocks in a row at 85% or more, every topic at 80%. It is our rule, not Walbrook's, and no practice site can give a pass guarantee.
If you are earlier in your preparation, start with the free FRE1 diagnostic. Mocks 2 to 10 and the topic drills are in Pro; see the pricing page.
Frequently asked questions
+Is the CeMAP exam at a test centre?
No. New CeMAP exams are taken online through Brightspace with remote invigilation, from home or another quiet space. Test-centre sittings belonged to the old structure, which used Pearson VUE; the last of those exams was on 12 January 2026.
+How long is the CeMAP exam link valid?
Walbrook says your exam link stays accessible until you either complete the exam or your registration expires. Registration lasts 18 months for the full qualification or 12 months for a module registered on its own, so the link's life depends on when you registered.
+Can I take a CeMAP exam on a work laptop?
You can, but work devices and VPNs can block the exam. Walbrook asks you to get your employer to whitelist two domains before the day. If your IT team cannot do that, a personal PC or laptop with a webcam is the simpler option.
+What happens if my internet drops during the exam?
Walbrook's public pages do not set out a procedure for a dropped connection in an on-demand CeMAP exam. They say Brightspace is built for low-bandwidth and intermittent connections. If it happens, note the time, take a screenshot if you can, and contact Walbrook's customer services straight away.
+How many times can I resit a CeMAP exam?
For each failed unit you can make up to three attempts in a week and up to ten in any 12-month period, within your registration period. Each resit costs £120 as of October 2026, while the first attempt at every unit is included in the registration fee.
+How do I get my CeMAP certificate?
Walbrook issues a digital certificate once you pass the qualification. A paper copy costs extra: Walbrook's additional fees document lists a replacement certificate at £48 and trackable UK delivery at £12. The overall CeMAP result is Pass or Fail.
